| adventures through Exodus |

Updated: Jun 25, 2019

Exodus is an interesting read. Started off pretty exciting but when you get into all the “cubits” and “acacia wood”, it can get rough. The other day this verse stuck out though; Exodus 31:13 “Above all you shall keep my Sabbaths, for this is a sign between me and you throughout your generations, that you may know that I, the LORD, sanctify you.”

Sabbath is essential. It’s above all. I need this reminder because in this process of raising support, it’s easy to forget some critical truths:

1. God sanctifies me and in Sabbath-ing I’m reminded of that

2. God already provided my deepest need, I can trust him to provide every other need

3. Because of the cross, I don’t have to trust in my own work rather I may now

rest in the finished work of Christ

Since my last email I’ve traveled to CA, PA, MI & GA. It’s been an exciting trip to see many friends and family (including my 2 month old niece!!) but also very difficult being away from my community in Austin.

While at my hometown in PA I was able to sit down with about 20 of my friends and family and share about what God is calling me to next! It was a little overwhelming and draining, but at the same time incredibly encouraging. God has used these times to affirm his calling to me- that blows my mind. Over the next weeks I’ll be following up and emailing/calling those whom I wasn’t able to meet up with.

Finically I’m currently at 33% of my total goal! It’s absolutely insane and humbling to have so many stand behind me in their support. That being said, the 50% mile marker approaches quickly (June 2nd) and it’s easy for me to lose perspective of the things I shared above.

• I’d ask for prayer in trusting God

So simple and yet proves to be incredibly difficult. Pray that I may be intentional in my time to rest and remember God’s faithfulness to me so far, and that that will produce trust in me for the future.

Thank you for your continued support and prayers. Throughout this season and asking people to partner with me, I believe that partnership goes both ways. I’ve committed specific time each week to be in prayer for you. That being said, please reply individually with some ways that I may be praying for you.

Feel free to reach out at any time- I mean that.

I'm so thankful for you!

ZACH
